MCC Picnic Experience 2018

It’s that time of year again.  The time when MCC employees and family from across the Mid-South get together to enjoy a day of fun and laughter at the MCC Picnic.

This year, the Picnic Experience was held at Canale Farms in Macon, TN.  Employees from all 4 MCC locations came together to enjoy all this beautiful venue has to offer.  From great food to entertainment for kids of all ages, Canale Farms offered a great location for the annual MCC event.

MCC Dessert Competition

No MCC Picnic would be complete without the dessert competition and this year saw the most dessert entries in recent history.  From homemade cheesecake and delicious dessert sushi, the judges had a difficult time deciding a winner.  The second place winner was Jessica Allen for her Oreo Pumpkin Cupcakes.  Jessica is the wife of Brent Allen, MCC Nashville’s Document Solutions Assistant Sales Manager. The first place prize winning dessert was a delicious cheesecake made by our very own Robin Chance, Document Solutions Sales Consultant from our MCC Jackson office.  This was Robin’s first MCC Picnic Experience and we are glad she is part of the family.  Congratulations to both winners.

If You're Not First, You're LastThe Cornhole Tournament is a must-have feature of any MCC Picnic Experience and the coveted first place title gives the winning team bragging rights for the year.  The competition is usually pretty stiff, but this year a new team came out on top, unseating the top ranked team of Tim Barlow and Joseph Kirk.  “If You’re Not First, You’re Last” was the fitting team name of this year’s first place team consisting of 2 Document Solutions Sales Consultants from our Memphis location, Mike Phillips and Josh Hill.  Both Mike and Josh have been with MCC less than a year and we look forward to seeing them at many more MCC Picnics in the future.

karaoke winnersIn addition to talented sales, service, and administrative staff, MCC has some talented singers in our family.  The MCC Karaoke Contest is always a big hit at the picnic and both employees and family member get involved.  Whether you just want to sing your heart out for fun, or have serious eyes for the prize, the karaoke contest if a great way to have some fun.  This year, second place was won by Jeffrey Moore, Memphis Document Solutions Field Service Representative with his incredible rendition of the Garth Brooks classic “Rodeo”.  As good as Jeff was, he couldn’t beat the dynamic duo of Brent Allen and his son Blake singing “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.  In a brilliant move, Brent dedicated their performance to taking down MCC’s competitors and won over the judges and crowd alike.  Congratulations to Brent and Blake on a well deserved first place win.

MCC would like to thank all of the employees and family members that made this event possible.  A special thanks goes to Deborah Nelson, MCC Marketing Coordinator, for dedicating her last few months to organizing, planning and preparing for this event.  Thank you to Linda Cole for your tireless dedication to making the Dessert Competition so much fun for everyone involved. Thank you also to Andrew Butler for his amazing audio and karaoke DJ skills and Joel Kiedis for organizing and running the Cornhole Tournament.  MCC would also like to say thank you to Nancy Webb for the beautiful photos and always being the right spot at the right time.

Of course, we cannot forget to thank Canale Farms for such a wonderful venue, and Mr Mike the Balloon Man.  No picnic would be complete without Mr Mike’s balloon animals.  Thank you.
